Gionee, a Chinese smartphone OEM, has launched yet another mid-tier smartphone- the Gionee S10 Lite. The phone, like other mid-level smartphones from them, is heavily focused on selfies. With a price tag of $250, here is everything the phone brings to the table.
The Gionee S10 Lite packs a 5.2 inch HD (720*1280) display with a pixel density of 282PPi. Encasing the internals of the phone is a uni-body aluminum shell which not only looks good but also feels quite premium in the hands. Under the hood, the S10 Lite packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 processor along with the Adreno 308GPU. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual-sim cards and is 4G capable.
In the camera side of things, the phone packs a f/2.0 13MP rear camera coupled with an LED flash. The phone, at the front too, comes with an LED flash paired with a f/2.0 16MP sensor. There is also a fingerprint scanner embedded into the phone’s home button. Other sensors include an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, and a digital compass. Moving on, at the software front, the phone runs Amigo UI 4.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. And finally, powering the device all up is a 3100mah non-user removable battery. This coupled with the 720p display will be enough to get users through a day of heavy usage on a single charge without any issue. The Gionee S10 Lite, at least on paper, looks to be a decent mid-tier smartphone. The use of Snapdragon chipset definitely is a step in the right direction for the Chinese OEM. That said, the lack of an almost bezel-less display, dual-camera set up, and a gyroscope is a step backward for the phone. The S10 Lite probably will launch here in Nepal very soon!
