Google’s tiny, cute, and cuddly clip-on camera has been officially launched and is up for pre-order in the US. It is now available in Google stores in the states for an exorbitant price tag of $249. The consumer who orders the product is expected to get it in March, which is rather a long time to wait. Google, however, is still silent on the international availability of this compact square-shaped snapper.
The device bedazzles users with its Moment IQ algorithm that uses artificial intelligence to capture photogenic moments of kids, family, pets with good judgment over framing and lighting conditions.The idea is simply to capture special moments so that parents can celebrate with their kids without missing out on any fun. The camera performs autonomously without the actual need to press the shutter button.
The camera is lightweight weighing just 59.5g and is super portable as it can be literally clipped on to anything. It comes equipped with a 12MP sensor that captures high-resolution photos and short animations. The camera takes 15fps photos, has a 130-degree field of view, and a Gorilla Glass 3 lens protection. It is also interlinked with Google Photos and powered by Google AI assistant. The clips taken are stored in the 16GB of built-in storage and files can be transferred via Wi-Fi Direct. The device has a battery inside which can power the device for 3 hours and a USB type-C port to juice it up.

The future awaits more range of AI-Powered devices from Google but right now Google Clips has made its intro into the handsfree photography segment. But the major drawback this miniatured snapper holds is its price which is steep at $249.The camera doesn’t seem to provide value for money given its low battery life of just 3 hrs and support for only 7-second motion clips with no sound recording. Google has provisioned free shipping for the device but the users have to wait until March to get their hands on it.
