Google Pixel 2 Overview

The Google Pixel 2 packs a 5.0 inch Full HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 441PPI. The display is covered by Gorilla Glass 5 and is edged out by a 2.5D glass. And surrounding this display on the top and bottom part is a front-facing stereo speaker. Encasing all these component is a metallic shell with a glass door near the rear camera portion.

Under the hood, the Pixel 2 rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with the Adreno 540 GPU. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. The phone sadly doesn’t have a memory card slot meaning you can’t further expand the storage capacity of the phone. What you get is final! The phone, this time around, has done away with the headphone port following in the footstep of some fruit company you may know about.

In the camera department, the Pixel 2 packs an f/1.8 12.3MP rear camera accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash and built-in OIS. Google, at the event, boasted about the camera being the best in the industry with a DxOMark score of 98, highest for any smartphone camera. The phone also has an 8MP front camera for all your selfies.

Software-wise, the phone runs the latest version of Android, Android 8.0 Oreo. It also now comes with a revamped pixel launcher with the Google Assistant at its core. And just sitting below the glass door is a rear mounted fingerprint. Other sensors include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, digital compass, and a gyroscope.

And finally, powering the device all up is a 2700mAh non-user removable battery. This will be plenty to get users through a full day of moderate to heavy usage. And if the battery does run out there is the inclusion of fast battery charging and USB Type C. And all this goodness comes encased in an IP67 rated dust and water resistant body!
