The new Huawei AppGallery was recently revealed, a new app store to download and install essential apps and software for its Android smartphones. Huawei AppGallery is available in more than 170 nations and offers impressive features including quick app features.
Huawei AppGallery, why it became necessary?
The dominance of Google’s Play Store made it easy to download apps through a single platform. However, the recent ban of Google apps on Huawei phones has forced Huawei along with many other smartphone companies to rethink their dependence on Google Play Store. Huawei is at the forefront of the effort to create a feasible alternative to the Google Play Store. The company has made the new store without compromising on the variety of apps available along with ease of use.
Huawei AppGalllery now boasts 400 million monthly active users already in the Huawei ecosystem. According to Huawei,
- Huawei’s vision is to make HUAWEI AppGallery an open, innovative app distribution platform that is accessible to consumers.
- Huawei aims to strictly protect users’ privacy and security while providing them with a unique and smart experience.
Huawei AppGallery Features
More Future Apps
The new app store is segmented into 18 different categories, including news, social media, entertainment and more. Huawei has also packed a feature called ‘Wishlist’. In this feature, if you can’t locate an app in the store, you can submit the desired app into the list. When Huawei has added the app into the store, you’ll be notified of its availability.
Huawei Native Apps
Huawei also provides a list of native apps designed to work best with the Huawei phone’s hardware and software. The main feature is the Huawei HiAI, an AI platform for smart devices, that facilitates various apps on the phone. A handy example is the WPS Office app uses the HiAI and its image recognition software to identify text in images such as scanned documents and photos. The in-app documents are automatically detected and corrected, greatly improving productivity.
Huawei Quick Apps
Large application sizes are a burden on phones with limited storage. Most apps come with extra cache and data storage, that extends its use of storage. However, with Quick Apps, the applications use a fraction of storage, almost 1/5 amount of code, and provide more storage leeway. If there is only 1 GB of space in a phone, you can accommodate almost 2000 quick apps instead of just 20 native apps.
Huawei AppGallery, a necessary inconvenience
Using different software for the same purpose is honestly a drag. Most android users are now comfortable with the Google Play Store experience. But, there is no doubt that the success of Huwaei AppGallery is fundamental for an open ecosystem and market. Besides, the Huawei App Gallery is now more capable and offers most features in Play Store anyway.
