Huawei’s own foldable phone is the new Mate X. The Chinese tech giant recently announced its new foldable phone that packs a larger screen and folds pretty flat. Here is everything you need to know about this device.
The Mate X is the next-gen phone from Huawei. Following the recently announced foldable phone from Samsung, Mate X has a two-screen foldable design that comes together to form an almost square shape tablet-like display. The secondary display, at the back, allows the use of the main cameras, with greater specs, to capture selfies easily.
Huawei Mate X Specifications & Design
When unfolded, Mate X is just 5.4 mm thick that makes it a very slim smartphone. When folded to form a smaller body, the phone measures a respectable 11mm thickness. This alone makes the Mate X an attractive phone. Here are the main display specs for the Mate X:
- 6.6-inch – 2480 x 1148 resolution, main display (folded)
- 6.4-inch – 2480 x 892 back display (folded)
- 8-inch – 2480 x 2200, main display (unfolded)
Mate X has a Kirin 980 flagship processor from Huawei. The processor powers recent flagships like Mate 20 Pro and performs smoothly. The phone also packs Huawei’s latest 5G tech that we covered recently. The phone can’t actually take advantage of the 5G tech for now but is capable of it when the tech is introduced in the future. In all its glory, Huawei has packed the latest features it has at its disposal to make the Mate X the most cutting edge phone of 2019.
A much notable feature for the phone is the 55W fast charging introduced in the Mate X. This new charging feature is the fastest charging option available in any smartphone. It would be interesting to see how much it improves upon OnePlus’s dash charging features.
Mate X is the latest tech that packs the best tech and design available in the industry. The phone is priced heftily at a price tag of €2,299. The device will launch with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage in the midst of 2019. It is, however, still unsure if Huawei Nepal will launch the phone here. We will keep you posted if we hear anything about the phone.
