Huawei Technologies has launched a new budget smartphone, the Huawei Y5 2018, here in Nepal. The phone follows the current trend of bringing the near bezel-less display to the budget segment. Besides the display, here is everything else the phone has to offer for a price of Rs 14,900.

The Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 packs a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with a pixel density of 296PPI. Even though the phone packs a large display, it maintains a sleek profile all thanks to its 18:9 display format. And encasing the internals of the phone is a faux metallic shell which gives it an eye-catching look.
Under the hood, the Y5 Prime packs an octa-core MediaTek MT6739 processor along with the PowerVR GE8100v GPU. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage of the phone can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB.

In the camera department, the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 packs a 13MP rear camera accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash. The phone also packs a 5MP front camera for all your social media ready selfies. It too packs a selfie toning flash for better low-light selfies. Sadly, the phone doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, which we would have loved to see. Moving on, at the software front, the Y5 Prime runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. And finally powering this device all up is a 3020mAh non-user removable battery. This without a doubt will be enough to get users through a day of usage on a single charge.
