Meizu is going big with the launch of the new Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro, packing the latest hardware and impressive camera features. The phones feature a slim design and ceramic material along with a minimal front camera punch-hole display. Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro price starts from approx. $500 and up. They compete with major flagships in hardware and camera specs.
Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro Features & Specs
The Meizu 17 series share a similar design with a 92.2% screen to body ratio, made possible by its small 3.3mm lower bezel. They come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and FULL HD resolution. The screen supports 100% DCI-P3 colors and has a 90Hz refresh rate.
Since it is a flagship Android phone in 2020, it comes with the latest Snapdragon 865 5G chipset. This is the top-tier processor that works alongside the Adreno 650 GPU to offer the best performance smartphones offer right now.
Meizu 17 comes with a maximum of 8GB RAM, whereas the Meizu 17 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM option. There are two storage variants choose from, 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Meizu 17 Series Cameras
Meizu 17 comes with a quad-camera setup including a 64MP Sony IMX686 f/1.8 main camera. Other three cameras include a 12MP f/1.9 portrait camera, a 5MP macro camera and an 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide angle camera.
Meizu 17 Pro offers the same 64MP main camera along with a separate 8MP f/2.4 telephoto/zoom camera. Meizu is promising upto 8x lossless zoom captures with this new camera. The wide-angle lens on Meizu 17 Pro is also different, as it sports a new Sony IMX616 32MP wide-angle camera. It has a f/2.2 aperture and a wider 129 degree depth of field.
The last camera sensor is the new 3D depth-sensing camera to create accurate portrait blurs. Previously, these blurs were created only in photos, but now it is possible for videos too. Meizu 17 Pro is the first smartphone to use the Samsung S5K33D 3D camera in the world.
As for taking selfies, the front camera packs a 20MP sensor that can use Super Night Mode. It offers the option to take properly exposed selfies in low-light.
Meizu 17 phones have an in-display fingerprint scanner with a 0.15-sec response time to unlock the phone. It also packs a heavy-duty 4500mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The Meizu 17 Pro model also supports reverse wireless charging.

Meizu 17 price is 3699 yuan / $523 for 8/128GB variant, and 3999 yuan / $565 for 8/256GB variant.
On the other hand, Meizu 17 Pro price is 4299 yuan / $607 for 8GB/128GB variant and 4699 yuan/$664 for 12GB/256GB variant.
