HMD Global has officially launched their latest budget smartphone for 2018, the Nokia 3.1. As the name suggests, the phone is the follow up to last years Nokia 3. Nokia has brought a lot of improvements to the phone including a better display and camera. Including these, here is everything the phone brings to the table for a starting price of $161.

Nokia 3.1: Overview

The Nokia 3.1 packs a 5.2-inch HD+ (720 x 1440) IPS display with a pixel density of 310PPI. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass (unspecified) and is edged out by a 2.5D glass. And encasing this display is an aluminum shell which gives the overall phone a premium look and feels.

Under the hood, the phone packs a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor coupled with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Nokia 3.1 also comes in a 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage, but it will run you $196. The internal memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual-sim cards and is 4G capable.

In the camera department, the Nokia 3.1 packs a f/2.0 13MP rear camera along with a dual-tone LED flash. The phone also has a f/2.0 8MP front camera for all your selfies. Software-wise, the phone runs an almost stock version of Android 8.0 Oreo. It is a sweet offering from Nokia!

The Nokia 3.1 sadly, this time around too, doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner. The phone, however, packs other sensors like an accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, and a gyroscope. And finally powering the device all up is a 2990mAh non-user removable battery. This will be more than enough to get users through a full day of usage on a single charge.
