5G support is nothing new for the smartphone market, however many companies are slowly rolling out more affordable phones that feature 5G support. Samsung has also announced its latest 5G smartphone that caters to the budget market. The new Samsung Galaxy A42 5G price and specs make it a basic mid-range phone, but the phone supports 5G. This phone is the cheapest smartphone from Samsung with 5G support along with a decent mid-range spec list.
Galaxy A42 Features and Specs
Samsung announced the phone recently in the Galaxy Unpacked event where they also revealed the new Galaxy Z Fold 2. Thus, most specs of the phone hasn’t surfaced yet. However, the company has confirmed a few key features that helps us define the nature of the phone.
The image shown shows a boxy design with a small notch display. Galaxy A42 display measures at 6.6-inches and uses a Super AMOLED panel. We also expect the phone to have a FULL HD resolution like its predecessor, however there is very little chance that it also features high refresh rates.
In case of performance and gaming, the phone packs a Snapdragon 690 processor which isn’t really the best one out there. However, this also shows us that the phone is actually a cheap mid-ranger phone. The chipset is also accompanied by a 4GB of RAM.
The camera specs have not officially surfaced, but the phone features a quad-camera setup at the back. Various leaks suggest a 48MP main camera which is very common at this price range.
Another confirmed spec for Galaxy A42 is its battery. The phone features a 5000 mAh battery for a long lasting screen on time. Apart from that, there is very little information about the device right now.
Galaxy A42 Price and Release Date
According to Samsung, the phone is slated for release in the end of the year 2020. Its price is also not announced yet, but we expect a price of around $250 based on the specs we are aware of.
