The Samsung Galaxy S9 takes a similar route of its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. It still packs an amazing 5.8-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The display, itself, is covered by Gorilla Glass 5 and is curved by a subtle edge panel. And encasing the internals of the phone is a glass and metal combination making it an elegant piece of technology.

Under the hood, the S9 packs an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 845 processor along with the Adreno 630 GPU in the US. For markets like Nepal, the S9 will have an in-house Exynos 9810 processor coupled with a Mali-G72 MP18 GPU. These silicons are backed by 4GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB via a micro-sd card. And all these goodness comes inside a body which is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

In the camera department, the S9 packs a variable aperture 12MP rear camera which can go from f/1.5 to f/2.4. This definitely is a first of its kind as the variable aperture is something we see only in DSLR’s or mirrorless shooters. The S9 also comes with a f/1.7 8MP front camera for all your social media ready selfies. And sitting just below the rear camera is a fingerprint scanner embedded into the phones back panel. Rejoice, as it is finally in the spot where it actually should be! Moving on, at the software front, the S9 runs Samsung Experience UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Some other interesting features include a stereo-speakers, Iris scanner, Qi-wireless charging capabilities and DEX support. And finally, powering this device all up is a 3000mAh non-user removable battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is much like the regular S9 but with some drastic differences. The first difference is that the phone sports a dual-camera setup made by two 12MP sensors. The other obvious difference is that it packs a 6.2-inch display instead of the 5.8-inch panel found on the regular model. The Plus variant also comes with a whopping 6GB of RAM and a larger 3500mAh battery. The rest of the spec sheet is very similar! It even comes with the same four-color options- Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Titanium Gray, and Lilac Purple.
