Vatsal Impex Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of Xiaomi products in Nepal, has launched the Special Edition Red variant of Xiaomi Mi A1. Like we predicted almost a month ago, the phone has finally made its way here. Xiaomi, for this new and dazzling variant, has kept the price same at Rs 29,999, which is a good thing. The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red packs a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 403 PPI. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass and is edged out by a 2.5D glass. The phone, in this variant, comes encased in an eye-catching red metallic shell giving it a premium look and feel.

Under the hood, the Mi A1 Red packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with the Adreno 506 GPU. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The A1 Red also supports dual sim cards but only at the expense of the memory card slot.

In the camera department, the Mi A1 Special Edition Red packs a dual-camera set up with a combination of two 12MP sensors with f/2.2 and f/2.6 aperture. The secondary camera, just like the one on the iPhone 7 Plus is used for a 2X optical zoom. There is also a 5MP front camera for all your high-res selfies. The Mi A1 Red also comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded into its back panel.

Other sensors include an accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor and a gyroscope. Software-wise, the phone runs the Android One version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat. And finally powering this device all up is a 3080mAh non-user removable battery. This will be enough to get users a full day worth of battery life without any issues. And if the battery does run out there is the inclusion of Quick Charge and USB Type C port for faster charging time.
